Today the a mayor, Abdul Malik, and 12 other citizens in Pakinstan were killed by the Taliban. Malik had been openly against the Taliban and, therefore, a specific target to make a public display that shows the Taliban is not a force to oppose.Liaqat Khan, the head of the Peshawar Police Department, said the killer had a bomb strapped to himself and
walked up to Mr. Malik at the market. When the bomber was close, he detonated his vest of explosives, killing Mr. Malik.
I think it was right for Malik to voice his opinion on the Taliban, but it was very foolish to be the center of an anti-Taliban group and declare publicly his opposition. There is a greater chance of overpowering a group if you are doing it in secret, that way the group doesn't expect it and you can catch them off guard. So, I advise the anti-Taliban people to keep their group on the down low.
