Gay Rights Gain Opposition in Maine

There has been some political activity occurring in Maine about the law that allows same-sex marriage. Recently, there have been many Mainers that have strongly oppose this law and are trying to repeal this law. This issue has been back and forth. There are more people who support gay marriage then there are more people who oppose it. Still,

Both sides in Maine drew volunteers and contributions from out of state, but the money edge went to the campaign in defense of gay marriage, Protect Maine Equality. It raised $4 million, compared with $2.5 million for Stand for Marriage Maine.

So, now the issue is whether to affirm or repeal the law. In my opinion, why not just leave the law as it is? For me, I support gay marriage because people should be free to marry who they want, although I am a religious person. According to most people who are religious, marriage should be between a man a women just like the the Bible says. I believe in what the Bible says, but I am, in addition to every person in the world, have no idea whether to take the Bible literally and symbolically. To those religious people who believe gay marriage is wrong, I have to say, let God judge. For people who are not religious, this is America, and people should be free to do what they want, as I have said before. This issue of gay marriage should not be a huge issue or even an issue at all, for that matter.
