Volunteering at Exploring New Horizons: Education For Youth about the Environment

For my community service I completed 100 hours of volunteering at Exploring New Horizons, an outdoor school for elementary classes to learn about the environment. This has been my third time volunteering for ENH becauseI enjoy working with kids and learning about the environment. I spent five days at the YMCA Camp in Loma Mar where I helped out as a counselor. Counselors watch over about eight to ten kids by basically living with them and experience their learning about the environment. The outdoor school teaches the students about the environment, how to save the environment, and how to enjoy the environment. An as a counselor, one must encourage the students to participate in all the activities by participating oneself. So, being a counselor at Camp Loma Mar is not only a volunteering opportunity but also a way to support young minds' thoughts and ideas while they are learning about, saving, and enjoying the environment.
