Full-Body Scanners: What's a Country to Do?

Recently Europeans country have met up to discuss the possibility of future use of full-body scanners in airports. After the infamous event on Christmas Day when a Nigerian man, during a Northwestern Airlines flight, attempted to blow up the plane. Fortunately, the man was not successful, but many countries are hesitant to let this slide, wanting to increase their airport securities. Stefan Paris, a German Interior Ministry spokesman, says that Germany has not associated itself with neither the pro-scanner side nor the con-scanner side because,

the scanners cannot be deployed until it has been shown that they will improve security, that they are not a health hazard and that they will not be so invasive that they harm individuals’ rights.

Although the American College of Radiology has stated that a person can receive a greater dosage of radiation by flying a plane than either version of the full-body scanners, I believe it's an invasion of my privacy and my rights. Next time someone calls saying their terrorist son is going to be flying somewhere, whoever takes care of the no-fly list should put that potential terrorist's name it the list.
